Cheyenne, age 7, is a sweet little girl who wanted to go to Disney for obvious reasons, but also so she could experience all-you-can-eat ice cream at Give Kids the World! “One of her nurses told her about GKTW and about how she could have ice cream whenever she wanted, so that’s where she wanted to go,” her mother said. “It was amazing! It exceeded everything we could have ever imagined it would be.”
“She did get that ice cream – and that was her most favorite part! Ice cream for breakfast a couple days; always after lunch; always after dinner!” her mother said. “I loved ice cream in the morning! I got mint chocolate chip and lots of sprinkles and Nerds!” Cheyenne told us.
Cheyenne and her family spent time at all of the Disney Parks and both Universal Parks. “I loved seeing the princesses,” Cheyenne said. “I got all their autographs!” Cheyenne was able to meet Cinderella, Anna, Belle, and was starstruck when she met Elsa.
She also loved the rides, especially the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Magic Kingdom and the Hippogryff ride at Universal. “I was screaming so much on the Harry Potter ride! It went so fast!” she exclaimed.
Cheyenne told us that her favorite part of her trip was visiting Animal Kingdom. She loves animals and bugs, so she was excited to see some in real life. “We saw gorillas, gators, elephants, a lion, and giraffes. And thankfully no sharks!” she said. And to her mother’s surprise, Cheyenne added, “We also saw a scorpion!”
“I loved seeing the joy on everyone’s faces and how each person took to different areas of the parks. It was so nice to come together as a family and for everyone to have their own little piece of happiness,” Cheyenne’s mother said.
Through tears, her father said, “This trip gave us something really happy during difficult times.” Her mother added, “This Dream really meant a lot to us. It’s coming up on a year and just being able to put this in the past and celebrate the future of all of us being together as a family was so special. It was also a reminder that we are not the only ones going through this and we are part of this wonderful community we can lean on.”
We are happy to report that November marks a year off of chemo for Cheyenne! “Everything is looking great and going super!” her mother said.
We are thankful for our partnership with #ChartwayPromiseFoundation for helping to fund this Dream for Cheyenne and her family.
