Jamison, who turns 5 on Halloween, loves Mickey Mouse and Sesame Street. While Jamison is non-verbal, his parents knew that if he could express his most fantastic Dream, it would be to go to Disney. “He loves Mickey Mouse and we knew it would be something he would enjoy,” his mother said. “It was really awesome and something we’ve never experienced before.”

At Magic Kingdom, Jamison wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain. While he was scared at first, his mother said once they started going and took off, “He just loved it!”

Jamison is very pattern-oriented and discovered many new things during his trip. “Once he does something he loves, he wants to do it again and again,” his mother explained. Jamison created patterns in the arcade and playground at Give Kids the World. “He would wake up in the morning, do his pattern, then would just start walking to the park. That was really cool – he had a blast,” his mother said.

“Jamison learned to explore through this vacation,” his mother reflected. “He typically gets stuck on something, but this expanded his exploratory skills. He was just so excited to see other things.”

During his trip, our Disney and Sesame Street-loving Dreamer got to meet a slew of characters he loves – from Chip and Dale to Rosita; Mickey and Minnie; even Pooh Bear and Tigger. However, Cookie Monster was his absolute favorite!

Since their trip was in the fall, Jamison’s mother got to admire the festive decorations at Magic Kingdom. “I loved seeing Magic Kingdom decked out for fall. All the pumpkins, and the yellows and oranges were just so beautiful” she said. However, when we asked what her favorite part of their trip was, she excitedly replied, “Definitely the breakfast cart that would come around and deliver coffee to my door every morning! All I had to do was call!”

When asked what this trip meant to them as family, Jamison’s mother told us that it was amazing to not have the financial burden that a trip like this can put on a family. “We got to say yes to everything. Yes to souvenirs. Yes to ice cream. Everything was taken care of.”

We are so excited to know that Jamison learned to expand his exploration skills and that he and his family got to make sure magical memories together. We are thankful for our partnership with #ChartwayPromiseFoundation for helping to fund this Dream.
