Jonathan's Dream and a Journey Beyond Cancer
Eighteen-year-old Dreamer Jonathan and his two brothers experienced an unforgettable Disney, Universal, and Give Kids the World Village adventure, a trip filled with roller coasters, laughter, family time, and memories they will carry forever.
At Universal, Jonathan took full advantage of his Gold Pass, riding the VelociCoaster an incredible eight times with his brother. For a family of roller coaster lovers, the parks became their playground. They opened the parks and stayed until closing, exploring every attraction they could and walking nearly 20,000 steps each day. Jonathan especially loved Guardians of the Galaxy, calling the experience immersive.
For Mom, one of the most special moments happened during the Frozen sing-along, when all three boys sang at the top of their lungs. Watching her sons laugh, explore, and connect made the trip especially meaningful. "The whole thing was fun," she shared. "This is one of our best vacations, all 3 boys together." Seeing the brothers enjoy that time together warmed her heart and made her especially grateful for how far Jonathan had come.
Give Kids the World Village provided a chance to slow down and simply enjoy being together. The family spent time at the pool, arcade, and mini golf, even watching the World Cup from the poolside screen. They took one day away from the parks to relax and enjoy the Village.
Of course, no Dream trip would be complete without plenty of ice cream. Jonathan and his brothers took full advantage, enjoying it all day, every day.
But beneath all the fun was something much deeper. Reflecting on the experience, Mom shared, “Be grateful for every moment. Every day there she was grateful for the opportunity. Hold on to all the memories.”
For Jonathan, the trip represented something even more powerful. “This trip was like pulling the curtain, put everything behind me on everything I have been through with cancer.” During treatment, there were times when Jonathan “couldn’t walk for more than 5 mins.” On this Dream, Mom watched him lead the way every day, conquering thousands of steps and countless attractions.
This Dream gave Jonathan and his brothers the opportunity to laugh, explore, reconnect, and make memories together. It was a celebration of how far Jonathan has come and a chance for the entire family to look forward to what comes next.
