Forest's Dragon Dream Adventure
Eleven-year-old Forest has always been drawn to a world of dragons, fantasy, and magic, so a Dream trip centered around EPIC Universe was the perfect fit. For Forest, this wasn't just a vacation. It was a chance to step into the kind of world he had always imagined.
One of the most magical moments of the trip came when Forest met Hiccup and had the opportunity to pet Toothless the dragon, watching it move and come to life in a way that felt almost unreal. That experience alone brought his love of dragons full circle. Meeting Hiccup stood out as a particularly meaningful experience. Taking extra time with Forest, the interaction felt personal and special, leaving a lasting impression that will be remembered.
Forest's medical journey has required him to grow up far too quickly, this trip gave Forest something incredibly meaningful, the chance to simply be a kid again. His mom shared that "she had never seen him have so much energy," a reflection of the joy and excitement he felt throughout the experience.

While the parks were filled with unforgettable moments, some of the most cherished memories came from quieter time together as a family. A full day spent at Give Kids the World Village stood out the most. They enjoyed meals together, ice cream, spent time in the arcade, and relaxed at the pool. It was a break from the busy pace of everything, giving them space to slow down and truly enjoy each other's company.
There were plenty of fun moments that had everyone smiling, including laughing together while watching bigger kids take on roller coasters and encouraging each other to be brave. Forest even joined in, taking on a coaster himself, creating a shared sense of excitement and pride.
Throughout the trip, Forest fully embraced every opportunity. He explored all the Disney and Universal parks, enjoying the magic, the rides, and the experiences that made each place unique. At EPIC Universe, he chose a restaurant that made him feel like he had stepped into Burke itself, where he enjoyed a giant barbecue-covered turkey wing along with every sugary treat he could find.
Give Kids the World Village added a special kind of magic to the trip. From horses to holiday celebrations they had missed, every detail created a welcoming and joyful environment. As Forest's mom shared, "this is the most amazing place in the world."

Looking back, the experience meant so much more than the activities and attractions. It was a chance to pause and be fully present as a family. In the midst of a life often shaped by medical schedules and appointments, this trip offered something different. It gave them time together without distractions, allowing them to focus on the moment and on each other.
Forest's Dream was filled with dragons, laughter, and unforgettable memories. More than anything, it was a reminder of the joy of childhood, the power of imagination, and the importance of simply being together.
