A well-mannered and one-of-a-kind little boy with a contagious smile, Little Ashton, 3, came to Toby’s Dream Foundation as a rush referral. A big fan of Toy Story, Ashton had his heart set on meeting two of his favorite pals, Buzz and Woody. Even though he had days when his cancer made him tired, he was energized to go on his dream trip to Disney World! Soon, Ashton and his family were on their way to Orlando to meet his beloved characters and take his very first airplane ride!

A big fan of Toy Story, Ashton had his heart set on meeting two of his favorite pals, Buzz and Woody. Even though he had days when his cancer made him tired, he was energized to go on his dream trip to Disney World! Soon, Ashton and his family were on their way to Orlando to meet his beloved characters and take his very first airplane ride!
Ashton and his family stayed at Give Kids the World Village (GKTW) and it was a great experience for all of them. Ashton’s mother said, “We loved GKTW! We were given the most love they could have given. They gifted something for the kids every day and they had something going on for the kids every night. It was so amazing! My boys loved all the characters they saw at supper every night.” Ashton also enjoyed his favorite meal on his trip: vanilla ice cream with a banana, Cool Whip, sprinkles, and a cherry on top! The ice cream shop at GKTW is always a special treat for our kids.
The highlight of Ashton’s trip was getting to go to Toy Story Land where he was able to meet Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the Toy Story gang. “He absolutely loved when Jessie gave him a hug! He smiled the biggest smile and was so happy!”
“The family enjoyed being able to spend time together, and the boys enjoyed seeing and doing things they had never seen or done before,” his mother added. “This experience meant so much to us. We got to spend time together and enjoy each other. It will never be forgotten. It was a time for us to escape from the reality of life. We loved every minute of it!”
Toby’s Dream Foundation is humbled to have been able to send Ashton on this Dream trip to Disney World before he, sadly, earned his angel wings a few months after returning. We would like to thank We Promise Foundation for our partnership in making this Dream come true.
